Convergence Book 1: Think Big (submitting to agents)
www.convergenceepic.com
New Field General Huascar, of the Darskovian Empire, is sick of how his militaristic government ignores the environmental crises that they have made on their home planet -- in order to wage endless war on the Alliance.
Now Huascar has the rank that could allow him to unveil his audacious plan. He would finally broker peace with their enemies, so that his people can focus on finding a new world. |
But, because of his battle victories, the Alliance hates Huascar. Then, a botched scientific excursion ignites a war, and his mind is crashed by a pair of telepaths with a treacherous deal. Most alarmingly of all, he falls in love.
Written from many points of view, the Convergence trilogy is a compassionate exploration of war, social oppression and our relationship with nature. Compare with Dune and Star Wars, mixed with Virginia Woolf. |

Jezebel's Escape (in N3F's Eldritch Science)
A cacophony of destruction – exploding buildings, screeching vehicles and roaring jets – filled the house, while Jezebel tapped the ball with her paws down the hallway, until it bumped down the steps.
She ceased her half-hearted trot and peered over the top stair, toward the painful din and the lights strobing on the foyer wall. “Mom!”
Without lowering the TV’s volume, a woman sharply replied, “Huh? Jez?”
She cut the volume a little and yelled, “What?”
Her mother’s harshness stung her eyes. Not in a million years, would she toss the ball back.
“Nothing.” Abandoning the ball, Jezebel padded to her bedroom. Pausing at the door, always ajar, she eyed the purple and pink tones within and wondered when her mother would turn the night-mare off. It had been on since late morning, now it was past dinner time. Why didn’t her mother notice how Jezebel would disappear when she played her catastrophe films?
Avoiding her abrasive parent made it hard for Jezebel to tell how far she was in her drinking. Maybe driving her away was Mom’s plan.
She blotted the tears from her bare, human face with her forelegs’ grey fur.

Monsters Unbound
Vlad Dracula, the vampire is Vladislaus Țepeș, the historical Impaler, who upon his mortal death was denied an afterlife and thrown back into his dismembered corpse. Cursed by God for his evil deeds as Prince of Wallachia in the 1400s, long has he striven to redeem himself. At Dracula's castle also resides Theodore, who decided not to keep the promise to end his life, that he made Victor Frankenstein, his Creator. Persecuted by humanity, Theodore came in 1822 -- the two immortals have been friends ever since. At present time, they have a new guest -- Sonia, a Mexican American werewolf. She's a rebellious wanderer who fled a family rupture in New Mexico and came in search of guidance. When Dracula's vampiric ex, a goth rock producer, kidnaps his favorite piano student, the estranged pair's confrontation is interrupted by gunfire. Radu's Monks, a Fundamentalist cult, wants to eradicate all the monsters from Romania, starting with Dracula. Lead by a mysterious unknown, the ruthless organization has taken their own captive. As a result of my research on Vlad the Impaler and Medieval Romania, I've fallen in love with the country. We spent a fabulous two weeks there, so I may add imagery, visceral details and cultural flavors to my work. Stay tuned! |
Ceaseless Way Anthology |
I and six other writers are collaborating on Ceaseless Way, a marvelous speculative fiction anthology about journeys. I have two sections from my novel, Monsters Unbound inside.
Demon, He Called Me, chronicles Theodore (before he takes that name) paddling toward the North Pole, to fulfill his promise to kill himself. A seal pup changes his mind. My other tale, The Ortega Wolves Migrate North, shows Sonia and her family fleeing a drug cartel. They go to a Bruja (witch) to transform them into werewolves, so they can cross the US border for a better life. Check here for more details! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61559129895210 |
